Description

The new façade relates directly to the adjacent tanks thanks to the rhythmic concave design, which is formed in Ductal® Envelope panels and glazing. The glass offers reflections of the surroundings, while from inside the transparency allows people inside the art gallery to catch a glimpse of the tanks at ground floor level. From the second floor and above, the architect uses the Ductal® UHPC hollow board as a medium between the indoor space and the tanks, making the views from inside to outside more interesting.

Challenge

Description

The main challenge here was to redefine the 4472 m² building façade while respecting the architectural heritage. Ductal® performances offer the ability for the precaster to create very thin curved perforated panels (1200*3000mm*20mm/1200*3000*30mm), easy to combine with high reflection glass.

Pierre Budin Daycare

Description

The watertightness Ductal® Envelope made possible the design of an impermeable wavy façade with effective exterior insulation using a panel sandwich system. The mineral texture of Ductal® fits perfectly with the plant-like appearance that the architect desired.
